Northern Hills Retreat

Designed for hikers who want a meaningful challenge without the pressure of a fast pace, this journey covers nearly 2,000 meters of elevation gain while allowing plenty of time to savor stunning views, refreshing waterfalls, and the warm hospitality of local hill tribe villages, far from the usual tourist crowds.

Day 1: Begin your adventure with a scenic full-day trek (approximately 5-6 hours) along the peaceful Mae-Tang River, arriving after about 40 minutes at a beautiful waterfall perfect for cooling off. Continue to a second waterfall where you can relax and swim. In the afternoon, visit a welcoming Lahu village for lunch and take time to explore the surrounding plantations of rice, corn, and beans. Follow historic trails that tell the story of the land’s rich heritage as you make your way to a cozy bamboo hut homestay nestled in vibrant rice terraces. End the day watching the sun set over the hills.

Day 2:Wake to the gentle sounds of nature and enjoy breakfast in this serene mountain setting. Today’s trek involves approximately 5-6 hours of steady elevation gain through cool pine forests, leading to a high viewpoint with breathtaking panoramic mountain views. After a well-earned lunch break, continue hiking to a peaceful Lahu village set beneath the majestic Doi Luang mountain. Spend a restful evening immersed in the calm mountain atmosphere and local culture.

Day 3: Start your final day refreshed and ready for a rewarding descent. This day involves approximately 4-5 hours of trekking through lush jungle paths, crossing streams and waterfalls along the way. Pause for a pleasant lunch near a waterfall before completing your journey. From here, you’ll be transported back to the city, carrying unforgettable memories of your soulful adventure in the Northern hills.

What to bring:

• Insect repellent for protection against bugs 

• Trekking poles for added stability, especially on uneven terrain

Day 1

  • 8.00-8.30 am. Hotel pick up.
  • Drive 1.5 hour to the north where our fun trip begins.
  • Trek through the jungle along the Mae-Tang river.
  • Arrive at stunning waterfalls, relax and get yourself refreshed.
  • Continue trekking to the first charming Lahu village where our lunch is served.
  • Take 1 hour break and explore around the villager.
  • Continue trekking through the opium route where now full of plantations and crops.
  • Arrive at our homestay, chill and enjoy sunset
  • Dinner with Lahu cuisine
  • Campfire under stars 
  • Bed time

Day 2

  • 7.00-8.00 am. Wake up and have breakfast
  • 8.30am. Leave from the homestay and get on the trek.
  • Trek through the lush forest, though villager's farmland where the whole mountain is full of plantation and crops.
  • Trek through the pleasant pine forest where the weather cool all year round.
  • Summit point, 1650 meters above sea level. Enjoy the stunning view layers of mountains.
  • Lunch break in the jungle.
  • Continue trek to a hidden Lahu village where the Doi Luang mountain serving as a backdrop view
  • Chill and exploring the village
  • Dinner, camp fire 
  • Bed time

Day 3

  • 7.00-8.00 am. Wake up and have breakfast
  • Goodbye to the host and get on trek
  • Trek through the forest 
  • Descending toward to waterfalls 
  • Lunch break and refreshing shower
  • Continue trek to pick up point
  • Drive back to the city
  • 6.00 pm Arrive at hotel
